I’m using the Jira app. It was a little hard to get used to because of my familiarity with the browser-based version, but there’s a lot that I like about it.
Thanks. I asked because when it comes time to replace my work computer (a MacBook Air), I’d really like to request an iPad Pro. We use Jira heavily in my work so all the puzzle pieces would need to fit.
For sure. And Jira can be configured a million different ways, so I certainly can’t guarantee it’ll work for every workflow, but it does also work quite well in Safari, which is how I used it on my Mac anyway.
You're tempting me. Granted, I'm being really Catholic, but you are tempting me, especially as my book/computer/travel budget resets on July 1. Thanks, John!
I am doing this for some time now. I started with the 10.5” iPad Pro and a folio keyboard. I need a Mac for some work related stuff, but I am 99% iPad only. And I love it. I bought the 11” iPad Pro M4 this time. The 13” was too big and I have a nice 27” 4K display at home. So I am ultra portable while on the road and have an enough screen when in the office.
Yeah, honestly the 11-inch would have probably been fine for my workflow since I’m mostly living off the external display most of the day. My first attempt to really try to evaluate an iPad Pro as a Mac replacement was that same 10.5-inch model with the folio keyboard. Loved it!
Welcome to the iPad only club! 😆 Great post.
Thanks, Mark!
Do you use the Jira app or do you access it from safari?

And by July we’ll know what Apple has planned for iPadOS 18, so you’ll be able to make an even more informed decision.
